Candlelight Vigil for the Homeless

LICH held its annual "Have a Heart for the Homeless" Candlelight Vigil  on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Farmingdale State College.  Attendees enjoyed an outstanding performance by The Girl Scouts Choir, and shared a moment of reflection during the symbolic "candlelighting" ceremony, which was held inside with LED candles due to the weather.  Children spent the evening getting their faces painted, playing with balloon animals made by the Make a Difference Club, and reading along with Vigil volunteers during Story Time.  Donations of unused baby items, diapers and formula, along with toiletries, non-perishable foods, clothing, coats and blankets were collected and distributed at the Vigil.  Despite the weather the day before the event, attendance and support were both high.  Thanks to everyone for their continued support, and for Having a Heart for the Homeless!

Many thanks to the 2010 Vigil Sponsors and Supporters:
